Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked past the trail head, about 2/10ths of a mile up the kanc and walked down. looked like there was one or two spots you could have parked closer on the pull off but farther up the Kanc gets you off the road. There were a few cars parked at the ski trail head location and you could bypass greeley pond and catch osceola via the ski trails if needed.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First Water Crossing was half frozen, going over it today it was cracking. When i came back it had warmed up and i broke through on the first step. Be wary of the ice, may be better off going up stream a little to cross in the water.

Comments
Comments: trail is packed down. Started with microspikes, had to switch over to crampons at 2800 feet. Trail is slick heading up to East O. Thaw and freeze with some butt sledding makes it crampon worth for sure. might now even be a bad idea to bring an ice axe. Snow drifts from East Osceola to the chimney could have used snowshoes but i just kept my crampons on. The ascent past the chimney was more of the same - steep and slick. Coming down was tough, there are a few spots where it is probably safer to butt sled down than risk hiking down. Overall it was a challenging hike, some great views and no crowds, only saw two other people all day.
