| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Old Antrim Rd. was plowed past the last house, presumably for logging, but is just wide enough for one vehicle. The "formal" parking for this hike, 0.5 mi. from Shedd Hill Rd., was plowed. I went about 0.1 mi. further and parked in a plowed bump-out. A recent logging operation appears to have created some possible new parking almost directly across from the start of the trail, but it was not plowed. |

| Comments: |
According to the summit register on Round, the last folks through here visited on 1/19, a group of three snowshoers. They went as far as Round; there are no signs of foot traffic beyond that point. Between their snowshoes then and mine today, the route is broken out, but is still way too soft and unconsolidated for bare boots or spikes. Snow conditions were crusty, crunchy, and loud.
Chilly air temps today, but no wind and bright sun made things comfortable. |
