Trail to Brook already has had significant use, although not well packed because snow is soft and some people have bare booted. Trail to ledge has been well snowshoe tracked by 4 people up and back, including us, preceded by one other couple (thanks!). We snowshoe-tracked the trail from the ledge to the top and back. Steep parts, of which there are quite a few, require traction to keep from slipping, preferably snowshoes. And the tracked trail is not hard packed and will get torn up by boots or spikes, although it's probably doable that way. Lots of snow clings to the branches and has quite a fairyland look in the evergreen woods. The views were stupendous, a reward for the effort! |
