One gentleman ahead of me bare-booting which made for a lot of post holes of varying depths- a few inches up to a foot. Having said that that, if he hadn’t been ahead of me, there’s no way I would have known where the trail was. I was in snowshoes and essentially broke the trail which was a little tricky in spots and made for a long day! While trail is broken out, you could probably get away with micro spikes, however, the extra traction from snowshoes is very helpful in many places- including the summit where the wind has blown much of the snow off the rock.
Didn’t stay long at the summit due to strong winds which knocked me over a couple times and the late hour. Descended in the dark by the light of my headlamp and a full moon. |
