Comments
Comments: (clockwise loop) Rock spikes from the parking lot up where it was mostly ice, crust, and rocks with the occasional dry stretch or blue ice until the beginning of the ledges at 3500 ft. where I switched to hillsound trail crampons for the thick blue ice covering most of the ledge scrambles. I carried an Ice Axe but never used it although it could have been used for the second steep rock scramble to help with creating slots for your feet/crampons. Traction stayed on for Rollins trail and up Dicey's Mill to the summit of Passaconaway where both ice and blue ice, especially on ascent up to Passaconaway, were present. Crampons continued to stay on for descent down Dicey's Mill until 2200 ft. elevation where the trail magically became dry with some leaves. Be safe and Happy Holidays
