Comments
Comments: Trip report on Carters covers 19MB. We put on traction at the start of WRT. Stepped into drifts above our knee immediately. Snow depths varied but were minimum 4 inches and most places were much more. Rocks were still too exposed for snowshoes but foot placement was tedious to avoid rock/injury. Bog bridges were snow covered but the mud and open water beneath them was not frozen. There was ice on some of the rocks on the steep descents from B and C. Ski area went from deep drifts to minimal amounts. Trails were still wet in many places. Finally were able to follow the snow cat tracks down which made it a bit easier. Full on winter hike (minus snow shoes)
