Great bluebird day out on the wildcats. Parked at Pinkham Notch around 7:30, went down Lost Pond, up/over the Wildcats to A and then return via Polecat and a short walk on route 16. Met other great hikers, some that planned to park at Glen Ellis and cross the Ellis river but chose otherwise due to the difficult crossing. Some ice in spots, a little dodgy on the steep parts of Wildcat Ridge, especially on the rock ledges before E. Had microspikes in the pack and used them on the way back from A. So yeah it's that time. |
