| Water Crossing Notes: |
After recent torrential rains, all the crossings, even minor ones, were challenging. Waterproof boots with good traction, and gaiters kept most of our feet dry. But water was running fast and deep, and no way to cross without boots submerged. Even Ellie, the hardy Lab, had to be rescued on one crossing. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Pretty good, given the difficulty of maintaining a trail with so many inherent roots & boggy stretches. Thank goodness that almost all of the boardwalk sections were in good shape (if slippery). |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
As noted above, Ellie, the lab, loved all the water, but even she had some trouble in crossing below Nancy Cascade. |

| Comments: |
There just isn't a better trail in NH for little traffic (we saw no one), gorgeous waterfall, and spectacular, "infinity pool"-like setting--the far end of Norcross Pond--than this. And the view out over the Carrigain wilderness area is great. No one goes here to check a box on their list; and that's part of the charm. Well worth the effort. |
