Comments
Comments: Lots and lots of mud today. Most notably on the North Twin Spur Trail and the Gale River Trail.

I encountered my first ice of the season at about 4200 feet just below the summit of Garfield in the early morning. I fell flat on my keister on the summit, victim to black ice. I assume it melted throughout the day as I didn't see any other ice on the other trails. I did see some last remnants of snow on the Twinway headed up to South Twin.

More garbage than I've seen in a while, all on the Mount Garfield Trail. Plastic water bottles, zip lock bags, face masks, food wrappers. Just really unfortunate. People, please police your trash.

Lots of people out by the time I reached Galehead, and many people going to-and-from North and South Twin. Everyone super friendly.

My apologies to the DB I woke up who was sleeping in his car at the Gale River Trailhead parking area who was good enough to alert me to the error of my ways. Last I checked car-camping at the trailheads was prohibited, but what do I know.
