Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: 19 Mile Brook plowed.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Blue, Snow - Drifts
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only two crossings on this route are on Carter Dome Trail - almost completely bridged over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blowdowns on all trails. One not far from parking lot on 19 Mile Brook, many on Carter Dome Trail (could be done with hand saw), a few on Carter-Moriah Trail from Zeta to Carter Dome. I removed all but one (becoming burried in snow) between Carter Notch and Wildcat A. I also removed all that I had time and blade length for on Wildcat Ridge Trail, but a few big ones remain (just north of Wildcat B and just south of Wildcat C). Wildcat Ridge Trail seems abandoned in places due to a lack of trail maintenance (such as brushing and blazing).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: May want to be cautious on Polecat right now, due to snowmaking in progress.

Comments
Comments: 19 Mile Brook to Carter Dome junction - bootable with light traction, but also snowshoeable. Carter Dome Trail to Zeta Pass - snowshoes, packed powder. Carter Moriah Trail (and Carter Dome Trail) from Zeta to Carter Dome - snowshoes, not too well packed between Mt. Hight junctions (Carter Moriah to Mt. Hight appears to be decently packed from both sides). From Carter Dome to Carter Notch, trail is very well packed for snowshoes, though the steeps are a bit of a mess from sliders. Wildcat Ridge Trail is fairly well packed for snowshoes, end to end - footbed not particularly well worn across A slide, though, so use caution (also - someone missed the sharp left turn a few minutes above the slide crossing - don't follow those tracks!). Also a bit of drifting between A and C peaks. Trail really grown in. Disorienting blowdowns on either end of B-C - packed trail goes about 50 feet east of actual trail to avoid. Top of Polecat ski trail closed, but majority of it open. Lower Polecat has snowmaking in progress.
