Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Surprised to see about 5 cars already in the lot at 6:45am upon arrival. Maybe a dozen cars at finish. Unpaved part of Carter Notch Rd. to the trailhead is pretty bumpy, so just go slow and you'll be fine.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Big crossing of Bog Brook (3rd one on the way in) was the trickiest of the day, however could be managed with careful foot placement. All other crossings (I think 9 total?) were pretty straightforward.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Bog bridges on Bog Brook Trail could use some love. There were some that were in pretty rough shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: All the ones we saw were happy!

Comments
Comments: Absolutely glorious loop on Carter Dome. Trails were super mellow except for one push on Rainbow to the top of Rainbow Ridge.

Saw not a single person on Bog Brook, Rainbow, or Wildcat River.

This loop in peak foliage is just perfection.
