Parking/Access Road Notes: Lot large enough for about 20-30 cars. Maybe 10 cars at our late start time of 1 / 4 at 3:30 end. Paid $5.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Maybe one, cannot remember, must have been easy crossing.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This must be the most maintained trail in the Whites, so many stone stairs and yellow blazes were easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper was the only doggie out on this trail today (that we saw). He had a blast!! The ledges may be a problem for some dogs, especially if they are not used to the rough rock surfaces on their paws. Bring water as well; very limited water on the trail.
Bugs
Bugs: N/A So much wind up on the ledges that they stayed away
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: N/A

Comments
Comments: Decided on a quick hike to lower elevations since the higher peaks seemed to be in the clouds. Trail was mostly dry, with a few small spots with drying mud. Ledges were mostly dry while we were on them, but could have changed with rain. Had great views of near by peaks from the ledges and summits; too cloudy to see really far. Winds picked up on the ledges offering cool breezes; temp was perfect. Slight mist while at the summit, also helped to cool us off. Seems like it started to rain as we drove off.
