Parking/Access Road Notes: About a ten cars can fit at the trailhead if parked smartly. There were 5 were there when we arrived. Best from the south to come up 25 to High Street to find Long Pond Road.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Up on the open ledges it is odd many of the decent cairns are surrounded by shurbbery and are hidden from view. People lose the trail and a few whacko rock stacking doesn't help. The few yellow blazes that exist are faded. Mud holes could be made more pleasant by a log bridge or stepping stones and the trail is narrow too. There is no sign for the summit spur nor a decent cairn to mark it, guess that is this peak's thing because this has always been the case.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: why not
Bugs
Bugs: hmm strange I don't recall any

Comments
Comments: For such a popular shortish mountain hike with big rewards and it is on the 52 with a veiw list--this peak is not an easy trail for beginners to follow. Easy and wonderful to follow the footbed through the forest but once arriving to the open ledges the trail has several deadend spurs that people have stacked a few rocks making many think they're on the trail. Many must agree because there are a good number of little piles of rocks that hikers have added to mark the trail. The wet mud pits are ever present and too bad nothing has been done to improve the situation. The summit spur isn't obvious unless you know where it is. Everyone found their way with others warning those on their way up to look for it. The hike was wonderful and our group of five enjoyed the quick hike to the summit and enjoyed the views. (on our way home the Onion Rings at Big Daddy Joe's were terrific).
