Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing the Wild River at the Highwater/W.R junction is not a big deal, just wide. Other crossings were all rock hops, but the rain may have made a few of the a little worse.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Mostly in the Wild River Wilderness so blazes are old and very faded, and the blow downs are abundant. In several sections the footbed is obscured by overgrowth but not impassible. Muddy section abound on Moriah Brook, and the bog bridges are failing in many spots.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None out today, but would be an excellent hike for them.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope. Which is weird given the recent wet weather and warmth.

Comments
Comments: Great day in the woods. Infinite swimming holes along Moriah Brook, give yourself some extra time if the weather warrants a dip. Trails are typical wilderness, with some added sections of falling apart bog bridges and sever mud down low. Went up to the Imp shelter for the night (which was overflowing). Excellent banter with both NOBO and SOBO through hikers. Good luck to Voyager, Fireman, Surplus, Tiny, Tie-Dye, Aquaman, and the others I can't recall names of. Be safe out there!
