Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Livermore Trail (from Kanc to Old Skidder jct) had some very wet sections, i.e. pretty deep swamp/standing water on trail. It was possible to bypass in the woods - faint path from others doing so. Otherwise everything up until Downes Brook Trail was fine. All the crossings on Downes Brook Trail were rock hoppable (with poles & some creativity) until the very last one (i.e. first one from the parking lot), where we switched to crocs to wade through... and swim :).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Livermore Trail right before Livermore Pass (coming from the north) was totally flooded/swampy for a stretch that had to be bypassed. Also some deep mud on that trail (almost as deep as my poles!) Some useful bog boards to avoid it, but we had to get creative in other spots.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Wouldn't take our dog on north or south slide of Tripyramids.. which is why he want to his granddad's for the weekend.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were swarming on the north slide and at the summits of Tripyramids. Otherwise really not too bad.

Comments
Comments: Did a funny little loop-de-doo overnight to finish off all of the trails in this area. Started 7/10 on Kanc coming in on Livermore Trail. Went up the north slide to North Tripyramid (dropped packs at the bottom) and back down Pine Bend>Scaur Ridge. Didn't see anyone all day! Then next day 7/11 we went up the south slide, dropping packs at jct to Kate Sleeper, quick connect to South and Middle Tripyramid, then back down to Kate Sleeper. Took Kate Sleeper all the way over to Rollins (and hit the summit of Whiteface while we were there), then back down to Downes Brook back out to the Kanc.

Awesome trip! We were worried about the north slide being slippery after all the rain Friday, but it was totally fine and super fun! Only the lower portion was wet, and it wasn't a problem -- just took a little extra care. Scaur Ridge down is a breeze. South slide is more sandy than slabby compared to North Slide. We had fun going up that as well! Kate Sleeper is a super enjoyable trail. It was fun to revisit this area/these peaks that I haven't been around since my early 4ker days! Downes Brook Trail is a long way down, but the trail is really breezy. The nine or ten river crossings were chill as stated above. Nice swim at the very end. 10/10 Great weekend!
