Peaks
Peaks North Pack Monadnock, NH
Trails
Trails: Wapack Trail, Cliff Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, June 28, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Hardly anyone here. Maybe 4 vehicles, including mine at Wapack trailhead off Mountain Rd. The Bob, Ted, Carol, and Alice ;-) trailhead had only a single vehicle.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nada. Everything is bone dry, save for the wet, slippery rocks here and there.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in good shape. Blowdowns have been addressed since winter. Thank you to trail maintainers!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not a one! ☹️ Was hoping to see at least one.
Bugs
Bugs: Deer flies perhaps at times. But we have more in our 'burb neighborhood than on this trail. That said, your mileage may vary with mother nature's fickle ways. ;-)
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Some tissues some idiot dropped all over the trail that I swept up with an old medical glove and stashed in an old, disposable ziplock bag. Take nothing but your photographs, leave nothing but your footprints. There, I feel better, now. :-)

Comments
Comments: Nice day to be hiking in Southwestern NH. Partly sunny. Humidity and heat index was high, but enjoyed a breeze at the cliff and some of the way down.

Askewed a trip North. Partly because the forecast for the Northern peaks looked far less enticing, w/ low cloud deck and possibility of t-storms. But also because having been spoiled by the beautiful bluebird weather on Mt Isolation last Thursday ( 24 June 2021).
