| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Starr King Trail is in fine shape. Kilkenny Ridge Trail between Waumbek and S. Weeks is in need of some serious maintenance. There are blow-downs of all sizes everywhere. The blow-downs appear to have been there for years; some of the detours have now been covered by new blow-downs, so we have detours of the detours. Trees and brush are growing into the trail in some areas. |

| Comments: |
A beautiful, warm Spring day in The Whites. Distant views were poor due to a high level of haze in the air. But the real show was obtained not by looking up, but by looking down. The middle one mile section of the Starr King trail was awash in wild flowers - spring beauties, trout lilies, and brown (or purple) trillium. |
