Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Tripoli Rd is open! The section leading to the trailhead is unpaved. Watch out for rocks and holes. Also frequented by bikers (motorized and self-powered), so take it slow and keep an eye out for them, too.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several thin, whispy branches at head level during the first mile. Mostly just an annoyance for tall folks. Otherwise, trail in great condition. No downed trees or sections in disrepair.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The descent from Osceola heading north to the the East peak is steep. It doesn't seem like a major hazard, but may be difficult to navigate if your dog struggles with scrambles.
Bugs
Bugs: Flies and mosquitos are coming out, especially at lower elevation near the trailhead. No repellent needed yet, but probably very soon.

Comments
Comments: Trail is in great condition and mostly dry south of Mount Osceola. Around 4k feet, there is soft, slushy, unstable snow on the trail. It is easily navigable without microspikes but there are some pretty nasty postholes off the monorail.

The link between the peaks is a mix of dry and snow covered (similar to above). Most notably, the chimney section was dry and snow free. We wore spikes for a couple of sections, particularly the climb to East peak, but many people were fine without the extra traction. Overall, there is minimal ice and the remaining snow is soft, sticky and extremely dirty. Really no concerns barefooting it.
