A *FINE* day in the forest. Gorgeous chilly temps to start that skyrocketted rapidly. I was happy to not be the honorary spiderweb eater (thanks Don!). It appears that the Concord State Psych Hospital let out and it was an absolute zoo of familiar faces. All the best people are crazy, ha. Trail is in fine shape to about 4000 feet (above last switchback) where it becomes running water, snow enters about 4200 feet to ledges. Snow in the immediate vicinity of the summit cone and then of and on bare ground/solid mono. Chimney was dry, opted to descend the bypass on the way in, did ascend it proper on the way out. Same conditions persist in the area of East in that snow enters around the summit cone. Noticibly softened on the way out. Noted trout lillies, wild oats, trillium errectum (burgundy), and a few more I forget the name of starting to bloom (the blue / red beaded ones)
