| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I was able to squeeze in between two vehicles already parked on Lake Road @ 0700. Maybe 10 or so lined the road when I returned. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
None. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are three fallen trees on the lower two-ish miles of the trail - none if which hinder forward progress much. Although the trailhead and junctions are signed and there are cairns higher up it never dawned on me until today this trail has no blazes. This is not a complaint at all, mind you (I like it this way) - just an observation. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one early on. |

| Bugs: |
None. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Nothing. |

| Comments: |
Trail is mostly dry with a few steps here and there of the other conditions checked.
I got a relatively early start hoping to enjoy the Pumpelly Ridge and perhaps even the summit in relative quiet. Two others were coming down during my ascent and when I got to the top there was only one other person. After a break I enjoyed the 360 views in silence: something I never thought I would ever experience here on a decent mid-Spring Saturday morning. On the way down I cut into the woods to poke around a little bit and found a nice ledge for an early lunch. Although I crossed paths with some people on my way out it didn't seem to crowded. I guess limited parking do that.
Skies were grey and becoming cloudier later on but the temps were comfy and there was hardly any wind at all. In all a very pleasant trek. |
