Spikes came for the ride today. Ice in many of the rocky areas and steep areas. Spikes would be overkill but you need due diligence when ascending and especially descending. Two small pockets of snow after Jim's Junction still hanging on, maybe two inches. Trail is wet in spots and muddy, but nothing too crazy. This is typical for Monadnock and this approach, being from the north. Fourth car in lot at 8:10am, only one spot left at 11:30am. Glad I got an early start and got up quick, knowing it would be busy today. Passed many people when descending. |
