Trail Maintenance Notes: McCrillis Tr not maintained- significant # of blowdowns (in excess of 2 dozen); McCrillis Tr very hard to follow especially descending due to overgrowth onto trail

Dog-Related Notes: Not a good trail/hike for dogs. Bring your own water for the dog. There is no water after crossing the Whiteface Stream on Flat Mtn Pond Tr.

Bugs: Lots of flying/annoying bugs going up.

Comments
Comments: As noted above, McCrillis Tr is not maintained and very poorly blazed, if at all. Significant # of blowdowns. Some easily stepped over; others with caution and 4 that you had to leave the trail to get around. The last 2/3 of McCrillis is very steep; good footing - however if wet could be slipping and sliding. Lost trail for about 15 minutes while descending due to overgrowth.

After visiting the summit on the Rollins Tr, back tracked and had lunch on the open ledges. Would not recommed this route unless you want to try something different
