Comments
Comments: Beautiful, warm, blue bird spring day. Spring snow conditions, so microspikes were still helpful. There are were also areas of open rock everywhere which contradicted foot traction, but we kept them on all day. There was some mud starting around the stone step area on the lower part of the Dickey Mtn Trail, but most was avoidable on Sunday. Probably more mud in the days ahead.

The few patches of blue ice were in the shadows on ledge leading up/down. Spikes helped there alot.

Conditions are obviously influx with warm weather and some predicted precip in the days ahead.

We went out to the spur trail off Dickey's summit -- it's a 0.2 mile walk, and had a small # of postholes, but it was well worth the walk -- I had never seen the views out there before. Great spot if you spare a little extra time. I'd like to see the real spur trail, because it was obvious whoever had walked out there might have missed the actual path, as we were unfortunately walking over small, snow-covered vegetation patches. Not what I would normally ever do.
