Thanks to Pam's post and Tim's report, I decided to hike the Downes Brook Trail to get to Mt Whiteface. All trails were well broken out. Some face slapping branches on the Downes Brook Trail. There is an interesting look up a snow covered slide from the Downes Brook Trail.
Met two young hikers from MA on the Rollins Trail who had just ascended via the Blueberry Ledge Trail. Beautiful blue skies and great views of Winnipesaukee and Squam from the south ledges of Mt Whiteface. No views from the summit. |
