| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Shockingly no blowdowns from yesterday's high winds. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Many well behaved pups. Saw two calmly navigating ledges on leash. I'd say this is not a good hike for anyone with a skiddish or arm puller kind of dog- too many ledges to deal with that kind of behavior. |

Overcast hike of Welch Dickey Loop. Up Welch and down Dickey. Regardless of season this one is not for the faint of heart. Trail has a firm crust on the slabs going up Welch with occasional blue ice. Spikes worked top to bottom- can't do this hike otherwise. Ledge on Dickey had just enough crust to make it feel safe. The snow pack surface wasn't quite packed or slushy heading down. I am sure with warming temps snow will get sticky and cause some balling up. Overall, it was an interesting winter hike. |
