Comments
Comments: Made almost 8 mile loop over Monadnock mostly on my cross country skis. I was able to use my skis all the way to just past the intersection of Red Spot/Pumpelly trails and from this point on since it was so icy I used my snowshoes for their fabulous crampons. On summit two young men that barebooted up White Cross Trail. Vast vista today, walked over highpoint and spun around and headed back down, it was a little breezy up there as usual. From the summit to the intersection of White Cross I passed by at least 6 people making their way up and not a soul wearing snowshoes, geez there is at least 2 feet of snow off the packed track. I put my skis back on for White Dot and took them of for a couple of the steep drops. The last one I slipped and slid on my butt right almost right down to the Old Ski Path. Yeah finally skied old ski path! Snow conditions were sticky on the way up that I didnt' need to use my skins. Another intersting adventure on Monadnock.
