This was a trail work hike. A couple of blowdowns were removed and encroaching spruce branches were trimmed in the upper softwoods. The trail is in great shape. |

The trail had been unbroken since the last storm so we broke trail through a foot of snow up to the ledges and again in the upper softwoods. The ledges have adequate cover to allow snowshoes throughout. The two other hikers on snowshoes followed us and the trail had an established, but still soft, snowshoe track on our descent. Unfortunately, someone had postholed up in our tracks before giving up at the viewpoint side trail so the trail below that is an ankle-twisting mess.
