Comments
Comments: Lonesome Lake trail is a superhighway to Lonesome Lake and easily barebootable to the lake. I continued on the Lonesome Lake trail which was much less of a superhighway but well packed with a fresh 2-3 inches of new snow on top and one barebooter ahead of me. A few hop-over and duck-under downed trees. One requires minimal off trail skirting to avoid. At the junction of the Kinsman Ridge Trail the barebooter headed towards Cannon and I made the short but steep ascent to NE Cannonball before returning to the junction and continuing to Cannon. The 0.6 mile ascent to the junction with the Hi-Cannon Trail (recently used) was steep and arduous. I had the summit to myself. I returned the way I came. To preserve the integrity of the trails I wore snowshoes from start to finish.
