Comments
Comments: Beautiful night hike of the Wildcats.

We called Wildcat inquiring about uphill passes and were told they are not issuing them this year but hiking the slope can be done in nonoperational hours. There is a sign posted just past the base lodge stating "Uphill access is currently closed on all portions of Wildcat Mountain until further notice" We are very glad for the advance phone call and there were no issues.

The Wildcat Ridge Trail was broken out nicely broken out and travel was quick with snowshoes. Unfortunately there was some heavy postholing as I got closer to A. On the return hike the snowshoes smoothed quite a few of the shallower postholes. Highly recommend snowshoes for this hike. A few of the steep parts of the trail had blue ice covered with fresh powder and there were a few spots on the ridge with minor drifting
