Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked in the upper lot on Ossipee Park Road. Got the last spot a little after 930. Cars were parallel parking alongside the road by the time I returned, around 1300. I thought I might have trouble backing out of a spot, but I didn't! The road itself was well plowed and salted - basically dry.

Comments
Comments: I put my snowshoes on after I walked the road to the trailhead, but there was a shortcut through the fields that most people were taking. Mount Roberts Trail to Roberts summit was well packed and traveled, and postholed by now. I managed to pass a group of 3 postholing very early on. Also passed quite a large group of 10+ people early on as well. Heading up to Roberts summit was a bit rocky and bare in some spots, but not enough for me to take off my snowshoes. Beautiful views from the viewpoints heading up to the summit looking south/southeast and from Roberts summit looking north.

Heading to Faraway, it looked like a group of 2-3 skiiers had broken the trail. It should be a bit smoothed out by now. I broke trail going to the summit of Faraway. The group of skiiers headed off trail after the Faraway viewpoint and I broke trail from there to where the switchbacks started on Faraway Mountain Trail and where the skiiers had crossed. I had planned to head to Shaw/Black Snout/Bald Knob as well, but I wasn't in the mood to break any more of High Ridge Trail. I followed the well packed skiing trail to cutoff all of the switchbacks all the way down to Cold Spring Road. I passed one other snowshoer heading up to Faraway who said he had broken out the bottom part of the trail.

No cars in the lot at Shannon Brook parking lot when I passed in the morning, and 3 when I passed in the afternoon so I would assume some of those trails have been broken out by now.
