Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Took the extension of Carter Notch Rd to avoid some of the crossings. Two remaining were running high. Both were OK with either a long jump or walking on rocks a few inches under the water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One or two large blowdowns on Halls Ledge trail. We took care of one downed tree that was at eye-level. Virtually all the trails we were on today had some significant mud. Looks like some new work will be happening, though. Punchion materials have been dropped on the ridge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Terra enjoyed the mud and all the running water. We did come across several mother Grouse with babies early in the day. She went onto her leash for awhile to avoid stressing the wildlife.
Bugs
Bugs: At the parking lots at the end of the day... some mosquitoes and blackflies. Otherwise, NOT!

Comments
Comments: It was fun to get the Wildcats by a different route! If you intend to try this, please ensure you have a map that shows the Jackson X-C ski trails on it. My map showed the trail over Hall's Ledge to Carter Notch Rd as a single path with no intersections. Instead, we came to at least three intersections where decisions needed to be made. Mark's map was the only one we had with us (out of three) today that showed the ski trails so that we could make the right decisions.

Kudos to the Carter Notch Hut croo for the chocolate chip cookies and apple pie.
