Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lambert Ridge is in great shape. A few spots are slippery due to leaves, but no major blowdowns. The Ranger Trail is a bit more dicey. The upper ledge sections are tricky in any event, but even the lower sections aren’t easily hiked because of all the small rocks that with leaf coverings can be real ankle breakers. There are a few blue blazes on the lower sections, but the trail is pretty easy to follow, so they’re not really missed on the upper sections (beyond the Ranger garage).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Probably a good trail for dogs, but didn’t see any.

Comments
Comments: I was surprised the AT (Lambert Ridge) wasn’t blazed more frequently. There are a few spots—especially on the ledges—where it wasn’t quite clear where to go. But, a great hike overall. The fire tower alone makes the trip worthwhile.
