Comments
Comments: Decided to hike these two from Gunstock resort because who wants to deal with insane parking. Plenty of room even with the crowds. Bathrooms, concession stands & chairlift open. I initially missed the blaze to enter the woods to start Brook Trail. Hiked Ski Trails most of the ascent, and boy did the legs feel it. Entered the woods at the upper ski trail cross over. Once I was on the trail it was easy going & well blazed. The summit of Gunstock has a great view of the lake, you just have to deal with a crowd. Headed over to wooded Belknap summit, via blue trail, to tic it off the list. About half a dozen hikers taking turns on the fire tower, it’s the only way to get a view. Headed back on Blue trail to Saddle and then followed Brook all the way down to see where I missed the entrance to trail head. If you are at the Stone Chimney the trail starts either directly behind it or walk to left of chimney take a right at first opening & then look for yellow blaze on snowmaking pipes. If you’ve gone more than a couple hundred feet you’ve gone to far. I def recommend descending part of the ski trail this is where you’ll get some great views.
