A beautiful day to be on this peak, with cool temps and sunny skies. On the ascent, we zig-zagged back and forth between Ted's and Carolyn's, bushwhacking through open woods and finding a nice off-trail ledge with a view to Lyndeborough Ridge. Once up near the top, we visited the cliff first and then the summit. The summit cairn has been rearranged a bit to be less tomb-like. By whom, I don't know.
Ted's has a thick layer of fresh leaves right now, which made a couple of turns confusing as well as being a bit slippery in spots. There a few tiny areas of stagnant water, otherwise it's very dry here. Foliage is mostly down, but some pockets of color remain for now. Despite the busy trailhead, we only encountered a few people on trail. |
