Parking off North Groton Road, turning R at sign for SPNHF Cockermouth Forest; proceed a couple of tenths down dirt road to bump out parking for 3-4 cars outside of gate. |

Second visit to Cockermouth Forest. Revisited Mount Crosby and Bald Knob and the views with full on fall color did not disappoint. I was redlining trails, so we then hiked over the NW part of the SPNHF parcel. Had lunch at Little Pond and enjoyed the pitcher plants and other bog species. Just lovely. The views from Cliffs Loop were also quite nice. The former Remick Place shown on the SPNHF map was not right against the trail, but we saw old apple trees and we walked through the tall grass into the old foundation area. Very cool.
