Bugs
Bugs: There is a paper wasp/hornet nest, maybe the size of a cantaloupe, on the Carrigain Notch Trail, about 100 yards or less east of the junction with the Desolation Trail. The nest is on the south side of the trail, about 5 feet off the trail, low to the ground. The person in front of me was stung; I bushwhacked off the trail and around.

Comments
Comments: The Nancy Pond Trail is most excellent. Nancy Cascades are really nice, as is Nancy Pond and Norcross Pond. The side trip up Mount Nancy was short, but a stiff climb, with a surprisingly nice view spot. It is a bushwhack, but very easy to follow. The Desolation Trail is tough and unforgiving.

Got caught in the rain on the ascent up Carrigain, but the weather cleared and ended up with some nice views.

Ran into very few people on the Nancy Pond Trail and the Desolation Trail. A fair number of people at the summit and passed quite a few people on the descent. Parking lot at the Signal Ridge Trailhead was near full.
