Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, August 22, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At the tiny lot for Mt. Langdon Trail in Bartlett. Some "creative" parking going on today.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall, this route is in fantastic shape. The logging road section of MLT is a little brushy, but not bad. Just inside the wilderness boundary is a cluster of blowdowns which require crouching.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I met Willow, who was having a grand time. Any hearty trail dog would be fine here.
Bugs
Bugs: A cloud of black flies at the summit. How? What?
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: It was one of those wacky weather days. Sunny to start, ominous clouds at the summit, heavy rain during the descent, then sunny again back at the trailhead. Dry trails up, wet trails down. Views to nearby summits and the Presidentials were obscured by low cloud cover. I also did the short but scrappy bushwhack to Parker's west ledges, noting a few old cairns along the way. Definitely a spot to return to in better weather for the spectacular views over Razor Brook Valley. I had originally planned on continuing to Mt. Resolution's South Peak, but the iffy weather said no.
