Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At end of Ossipee Park Road the first parking area on the right after going past the Maple Lodge is marked for Hiker Parking Only and it was full at 10 am. But there is more parking near Shannon Pond and before the concession stand and there are nice picnic tables. There is more parking for people going to see the Castle. My understanding is that is now the only access to the Castle in the Clouds.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: On High Ridge Trail at hairpin east of Faraway Mt. there is a large birch tree across the trail and there is another one across Oak Ridge Cutoff between intersections of Upper Bridle Path and Faraway Mt. that will require chainsaw work. Trails well blazed and great trail signs with distances! Thank you.

Bugs
Bugs: none, there was a nice breeze most of the time.

Comments
Comments: Mt. Roberts is my favorite Ossipee Peak! There is a view around every turn. Sad to see no horses at the stables this summer. Good trail signs all the way. A good number of people out enjoying the Mt. Roberts Trail. Tons of people walking around Shannon Pond and the shorter lower trails. Good views all day. Love looking over the Big Lake at Gunstock and beyond. And on top of Mt. Roberts the vista north is among the most grand. The view improved after our arrival and Carrigain and Mt. Washington came into sight. I love the pointy Black Snout Mt. North! We didn't visit the high point of Faraway Mt. this time but did show Carey the antique compaction roller in the woods just past the chained road. Carey went down Faraway Mt. Trail (I don't remember liking all the switchbacks) and I decided to continue on the High Ridge Trail and was glad I did. Wonderful paths on the old carriage roads and Oak, Beech and Striped Maple trees kept me in the shade all the way. The concession stand sells cold beer! What a fine day. Carey is gather good NH trails and I think he is enjoying the trails as much as our fine breweries.
