Comments: Headed down the grassy logging road for about .25 miles where it forked. Okay....when there's a fork in the road, take it, right, Yogi? So we took the right fork following it past a bog at .4 miles and continued to a height of land at about. .6 miles. Here we started bushwhacking through fairly nice woods. We soon came to an old logging road which we followed for a bit until it turned away from the peak. This was the credo for the day as we bushwhacked then followed woods roads and so on, all over moderate slopes. This did take us a bit away from a straight heading but was enjoyable none the less as the woods stayed open and the grade moderate. We finally came to a more steep section as we approached the ridge. We were greeted with blowdowns for about .25 miles at the most as we made our way up and across. Eventually we were following an old woods road then a short bushwhack up the summit bump and around one last blowdown to the jar. Heading down we saw an opening in the trees in a direct line back to the car. We headed down a woods road then through open woods, a little steeper than before. We spotted blue blazes ahead and checking the Gaia map, we saw these were boundary markers leading straight to the grassy logging road. We followed these blazed trees to a corner post and cairn also marked in blue. From here we continued straight towards the logging road. Unfortunately, we crossed it once, not realizing that was it before reaching it again a short distance further. Took the logging road back to the fork intersection and turned right towards our car. Moral of the story: if you want to reach the peak fairly quickly, take the left fork and follow it to the boundary markers which will lead you to the col just to the SE of the summit!
