Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Once I got on Long Pond Road, I found the gate open and the road in good repair. Appears to be fairly fresh gravel and its piled high with no bumps or ruts. Narrow one lane though, and deep drainage on the sides, so be prepared for some careful maneuvering if someone comes the other way, and they do come the other way fairly frequently. Was able to drive to the TH easily, so no road walk required. Be careful pulling into TH, the little drainage ditch bottomed me out until I learned to cross it ultra slowly.

Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One easy saw worth at maybe .8 in. One complex 3 trunk, two lower trunks on the ground are ax worthy, upper trunk at chest height is easily a foot in diameter, hardwood, with stringy grain, probably hard as hell. A small pair of easy saw worthy about a half mile farther.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple happy doggos
Bugs
Bugs: One or two mosquitoes buzzed by in the lower woods, and eye flies were pesky for about the first 1/2 mile. I never broke down and used spray. No bugs beyond that.

Comments
Comments: Trail was easy to follow. Some long flat slabs might be slick in rain, but not today, even though it rained some before I got there. I found the path to the true summit as described in Ken's "52 With A View" book, there's a path to the right near the HOL, with a small cairn and a big 3' diameter rock across from the entrance to the path with a couple small pine trees partially shrouding this round rock. Small bent bars in rock at true summit.
I went on over to the NorthWest ledges. It was a cool place to hang out and wander around. Lots of pretty lichen or whatever its called, many colors, intricate, delicate, and beautiful. There were rain clouds threatening, but I got some cool pics where a crack in the clouds produced these neat rays of light as foreground to the mountain view. Moosilauke had a misty cloud hat, so couldn't get any good shots on that one.
Low bush blueberries were ripe, but I think already picked. There are still many many green ones on the high bushes. A few high bush berries were ripe, so I did get a few, "unhhh Mongo like candy" moments. :)
