| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Glen Boulder Trail: good shape up to Glen Boulder, after that the sections with balsa pines are closing in the trail. Appears to have not been brushed in a couple years.
Davis Path: several blowdowns which are not too big and should be removed. Rotting bog bridges in mud areas have exposed spikes sticking up |

A challenging hike with rewarding views. A good stretch of exposed above treeline travel. Would be a good conditioning hike for climbing presi mountains. These two trails leading to Isolation are pretty rocky with a couple sections requiring picking your way thru boulders. There are only roughly two 50 foot stretches with no rocks. Started at 8:30, finished at 5. After that checked into the AMC Joe Dodge Lodge to recover - good midweek deal there - $80 for private bunk bed room, dinner, and breakfast. Total miles 11.5, vertical ascent: 5021, descent: 4923. Time 8:32. |
