| Comments: |
Great morning to hike these mountains and stay mostly in the shade with trails less traveled. There are many blowdowns ascending through to just below South Weeks where trail is virtually clear to Mt Waumbek. The trail was still obvious and fun to navigate around these masses. The last blowdown on Starr King trail that set the winter snow benchmark has been cleared as well. It was nice chatting with the backpacker I met on North Weeks as well as several other hikers I encountered heading down from Mt Waumbek. Starr King Trailhead was full by 1130. The additional walk from hatchery gate took 37 minutes. |
