| Comments: |
Shoulder season conditions persist.
York Pond Trail was fairly dry. Bunnell Notch Trail had plenty of sections of mud and running water, as well as some slippery rock. Kilkenny Ridge had patchy monorail starting near the notch viewpoint. Only prolonged stretch was a few tenths below the cabin, which was quite slippery following the rain and might be easier done with light traction. A few patches of monorail above the cabin, but no sustained snowpack (hard to say what the north slope looks like though).
Partly sunny at times down low, but occasional slight showers. Summit was in the fog. Wide variety of wildflowers in bloom including trillium, trout lily, bluebead lily, bunchberry, strawberry, bluet, violet, and star flower. Only saw three other hikers. |
