Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings on Ammo were very challenging - some hopable, many not so either you're getting wet or bagging your boots or going barefoot. Final crossing at end of Jewell was not crossable so bushwhacked up to the railroad to get across to lot.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not bad on Ammo, lots on Jewell that you either had to climb under or over or walk around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My pup handled the water crossing far better than the humans!
Bugs
Bugs: Combination of wind and my all natural repellent kept them mostly away.

Comments
Comments: Great day in the mountains! Saw very few people most of the day so social distancing not an issue. Was pretty amazing to have Washington summit to ourselves. Still lots of unstable monorail further up, even above tree line on Ammo and spikes were key. Saw one group without them and not sure how they made it up. Spikes came off at Lake of the Clouds and stayed off until a small patch once we got below treeline on Jewell. Final crossing at Jewell to Cog lot was impassable so bushwhacked up to the railroad tracks.
