Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked at the boat launch on Center Pond Rd. in Stoddard. In retrospect, an easier spot is a pulloff about 0.4 mi. N of this point, where the trail leaves the road. We spoke with the resident here who said it was ok to park there. This saves an uphill road walk from the boat launch. NOTE: NHDOT is currently installing drainage at the Pitcher lot and is also re-grading parts of the fire tower access road. Parking doesn't look possible at the moment, but foot traffic wasn't a problem.

Comments
Comments: This was Pitcher the long way, starting at Center Pond, about 7 mi. round-trip. This section of the MSG is just lovely, with smooth, soft footing the whole way. Robinson Brook Cascades were flowing, but we need some rain. Lots of blueberries, strawberries and apples coming along in the old orchard just south of NH 123. The easy grades, good footing, and shade were perfect on this hot and humid day. Very hazy views from Pitcher due to the muggy air. On the return trip, we spooked a white-tailed deer.
