Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lime Kiln Rd and Page Rd had some potholes but were fairly dry and in relatively good condition - my small FWD vehicle didn't have too much trouble on them. There's a big sign on Page Rd saying 'Trail' where we turn left to get to the trailhead. Room for maybe 2-3 cars along the road at the gate - there's a sign at the gate saying not to block it. There were no other vehicles there during my brief visit this morning.

Comments: Blueberry Mountain Trail from the west

I didn't really "attempt" to climb this mountain - I just got to the trailhead, saw that the snow cover was pretty much complete (even on the open field adjacent to the trailhead), and decided to come back another day. The fact that temperatures were in the high 30s and this section of the trail is lesser-used also were factors in my decision. It was clear, just from how the trailhead looked and felt, that climbing this mountain today would effectively have been a winter hike. I wasn't really prepared for a winter hike - I was prepared for a spring hike. So I figured I'd come back some other time when the weather was different.

Regarding the snow cover, there was practically none visible (except on the surrounding mountains) coming up Route 25 from Plymouth all the way up to downtown Warren. Just past where Route 118 peels off toward Mt. Moosilauke, snow began to appear in the woods next to the road, and by the time I got to Glencliff, there was fairly consistent snow cover in the woods and even some in the open fields. That continued all the way to the trailhead. There appeared to be fairly consistent snow cover at the AT crossing too (where two vehicles were parked).
