Not at all trying to tell people where to go, what to hike - but as a resident of Dorchester Road (just down the rd from the Smarts Trail head/AT) as of today there are barricades up in the parking lot. I did not stop to read the notice but did just receive an email from the AMC that popular trail heads are closed while the forest itself remains open, to encourage folks to spread out.
Just wanted to give y'all a heads up.. with the good weather coming up this weekend and all, unfortunately you will find a closed parking lot when you arrive. :(
