Walked up the road 0.2 mi., crossing thru an open gate onto what appears to be the last house/farm. Just past the barn and well before the house, turned right onto a woods road/ATV Road. This brought us to an open field. As we aimed uphill, at the uphill/right edge of the field, the ATV trail continued, marked with a "Blue Mountain" sign. We followed ATV/woods roads, easterly to the ridge, then followed other roads north along the spine of the south ridge to the summit. Two rotting hunting huts on the summit. Just beautiful woods! We hiked early in the morning, and while we carried snowshoes, we easily barebooted to the top. Fun and easy hike with JEM3. |
