One other vehicle on the shoulder of High street at its intersection with Long Pond road. Unfortunately, route 118 is in very poor shape. Crews have done a great job patching potholes, but there's a huge number of frost heaves. It is worth a detour to avoid 118. |

The first half of the trail was remarkably dry. Credit to whoever has been maintaining the water bars. |

The first half of the hike was on dry terrain. On the way up, I missed a turnoff and stayed on a logging road until it rejoined Blueberry mountain trail. The 2nd half alternated constantly from ice/snow to bare rock. There were a couple of spots with two inches of standing water on the trail (on the rocky areas, so no erosion). Trail markers were rare at times, but the side path leading to the summit was well marked by cairns. Only crossed one group of three hikers all day. |
