Comments
Comments: Snowshoes the entire day. Early in the morning the designated ski trails were semi-groomed and had a very nice crunch so I made quick time to the top of the lift.

From there the WRT was a postholed mess up to the platform and I thought "Oh great." However I noticed the trail beyond the platform was untouched and I thought "Oh great" so I broke trail to A peak. There was an average of 6-8" with a few drifts of about a foot on top of a semi-supportive crunch so it wasn't that bad - but the steeps of Wildcat Col made for slower going. After having a nice lunch on A peak I headed back packing more of the trail out until I encountered a group of 11 heading to A peak - all wearing snowshoes - on the S side of C peak. That made for a good track back to D peak. If they all kept the snowshoes on upon their return this trail will have an excellent snowshoe track. Ski trails were a just a little softer coming down but still excellent under foot and made for a quick descent.

Besides the group there was nobody else on the ridge today. On A peak there were some tracks coming from Carter Notch FWIW. No wind and abundant sun made it feel a little warmer than it really was. Crisp views of the Presidentials from the ski trails and a couple of other spots on the ridge along with the great viewpoint into Carter Notch and to the Carter Ridge on A peak. Real nice day!
